Israeli leaders, including Netanyahu, have responded harshly to comments by the leader of Iran at the recent Durban II conference in Geneva, calling Ahmadinejab a “modern day Hitler,” But the question needs to be broached, is the bearded debonair outspoken Iranian leader another Hitler? And the answer is no!

Calling Ahmadinejab another Hitler obscures the fact that the Iranian President has previously, in a roundabout manor, criticized Hitler for traumatizing the Jewish people. He frequently cited the German treatment of Jews in World War II as the cause of modern day Jewish racism. Frequently, the leader of Iran jumps around as he pokes jabs at the Jewish people, and has alternatively described Hitler as of Jewish origin, and Hitler as supportive of the religious ideals of the Jewish state. He more recently paints a picture of the Jewish people as the offspring of German racist culture. If he had read about it, Ahmadinejab would almost certainly cite the endorsement of the modern Jewish State by the Israeli Nazi party, as proof of his assertions.

One might be tempted to compare Ahmadinejab to Antiochus Epimanes (the Mad), the leader of the Greeks who in the name of Hellenism and enlightenment, tried to wipe out Jewish temple worship, and Jewish observance of the Shabbat and the Abrahamic covenant. Ahmadinejab too considers himself a world spokesman for issues of humanitarianism and enlightened thought, which he describes as polar opposites of Israeli racism. However, unlike Antiochus, Ahmadinejab respects, religious Jews, and at least in theory, may not be opposed to the reinstitution of Third Temple, Third Bet HaMikdash, 3rd Bet HaMikdash, 3rd Beit HaMIkdash, 3rd Temple, if accomplished under Iranian supervision.

It is best to consider the threats of Ahmadinejab as historically unique. The danger of this angry world leader may derive from a historical relationship of Iran to the Jewish people. At the time of the second Jewish redemption, Darius, the King of Iran, and son of King Ahasverus and Esther, redeemed the Jewish people, and through a generous edict, allowed the reestablishment of the Jewish Temple, Bet HaMikdash, Beit HaMikdash,. What leader wouldn’t like to be sitting in the seat of King Ahasverus, a mighty King who ruled over 120 countries, and had hundreds or even a thousand or more beautiful women to choose from. It must be frustrating, for Ahmadinejab and his Iranian cohorts to play second fiddle as Zionism plays itself out in the modern world

Ahmadinejab’s greatest danger to Israel, and other nations, derives from his fluctuating and often inconsistent intellectual conclusions. While at one time criticizing Hitler for having traumatized the Jewish people, he goes on to laud the Palestinians in Gaza, who put excerpts of Mien Kampf into the State Constitution. In the face of scientific evidence that AIDS came from Africa, he once publicly blamed the United States for having caused the AIDS epidemic. And while Hitler did at one time, agree to let Jews leave Germany and go to Israel, this policy totally changed after he met with the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem. Any further support from Hitler for the Jewish state was at best back-handed; and Ahmadinejab seems to miss that subtlety. This is the kind of intellectual vagary which might cause the state leader to try and indiscriminately wield nuclear weapons that could in one moment wipe out an entire city composed of complex conglomerates of human beings of multifarious philosophies, religions and beliefs.
